The Ledzokuku Municipal Assembly successfully hosted the 41st National Farmers Day celebration on Friday, 5th December, 2025, themed : “Feed Ghana, Eat Ghana, Secure the Future” at the Teshie Estate Preparatory School Park (TEPS).
The OVERALL BEST FARMER award for 2025, went to Mr. Mac Adjetey Quaye, a livestock farmer with over 700 layers, 700 pullet, 500 broilersa and 50 goats.
He received a certificate, poly tank, double door fridge, machete, knapsack, key bar soaps, Wellington boots, wheelbarrow, shovels, broiler feed, iron, blender, GTP cloth, a hamper, and goodies from Gandour.
Mr Quaye is a native of Teshie who resides at Okpoi-Gono.
Other award winners include :
1. BEST FISH PROCESSOR – Mrs. Susanna Akweley Fio, 80 years and a native of Teshie.
2. BEST POLI FISHERMAN – Mr. Amon Pele, 54 years and a native of Teshie.
3. BEST ALI FISHERMAN – Mr. Abraham Abo Ago, 55 years, hails from Teshie.
4. BEST AQUACULTURE FARMER – Mr. Nicanor Mensah, 29 years and a native of Teshie.
5. BEST LIVESTOCK FARMER – Mr. Seth Ashaley, 29 years, hails and resides in Teshie.
6. BEST CONTAINER GARDNER – Mr. Raphael Avadzi, 57 years, hails from Anloga in the Volta Region.
7. BEST CROP FARMER – Mr. Issah Fuseini, 26 years, hails from Kumbungu, in the Northern Region
The Farmers’ Day award ceremony recognizes farmers for their hard work throughout the year, serving as motivation to continue their efforts in agriculture and fisheries.
Celebrating Farmers’ Day is essential for both the Ledzokuku Municipality and the country as a whole, in providing a platform to honor farmers for their commitment in supplying food and livestock for widespread consumption.
