The Ledzokuku Municipal Assembly, on Friday, 6th March, 2026, joined in the celebration of the Nations 69th Independence Day Anniversary under the theme: “Building Prosperity, Restoring Hope”.
The colourful event was held at the Teshie Estate Preparatory School (TEPS) Park, at Teshie within the Estate South Electoral Area.
Delivering the keynote address, the Hon. Member of the Parliament for the area, Benjamin Narteh Ayiku, reminded each and everyone that the future of the nation rest upon all present and must therefore work hard and stay united and believe in the country Ghana as the theme reflects.
He encouraged the students to study hard, be respectful and disciplined and focused in order to achieve their goals in life.
Present at the ceremony was, Municipal Chief Executive, Hon Israel Adjetey Otchwenmah, the Chairman for the event, Gbetsoolo Nii Ashitey Akomfra III, Teshie Mantse and President of the Teshie Traditional Council, The Municipal Coordinating Director, Mrs Rhodaline Adwoa Conduah, the Municipal Education Director, Mrs Theresa Mensah, Heads of Departments and Units, MUSEC representatives, assembly members, religious leaders, invited guests, school children, teachers, parents residents and the media.
In all, 12 schools made up the parade of 24 contingents each as follows :

* Rock of Christ International School (JHS)
* Downsview International School (JHS)
* Teshie-Nungua Estate JHS

* Teshie Technical Institute
* Magjon Academy (Cadet)
* O’Reilly School Band
After a wonderfully synchronized and competitive march past, His Grace and Mercy Primary School emerged winners in the primary division with 90 points,
Teshie Wajir Barracks ‘B’ took the cup with 89 points at the JHS level, and Teshie Technical School taking the 1st position also with 82 points at the SHS level.
The Hon MCE, gave the assurance that issues relating to education are of paramount concern and will be addressed as such to enable teachers and students enjoy their schooling and become successful future leaders for the collective good of Ledzokuku and Ghana as a whole.
