REGIONAL DIRECTOR OF HEALTH SERVICES VISITS LEDZOKUKU

On the 26th of June 2025, the Greater Accra Regional Director of Health Services, Dr Robert Amesiya visited Ledzokuku as part of his familiarisation tour of the Region.
He came with other officers from the Regional Health Directorate including the Deputy Director Admin, Mr Emmanuel Taadi and the Deputy Director Public Health, Dr Farida Abdullai
The Regional Director’s first point of call was the Municipal Assembly where he met the Hon MCE, Mr Israel Adjetey Otchwenmah and the chairperson for the Social Services Subcommittee, Hon Emmanuel Kabu Saint. Also present were the Municipal Director of Health Services, Gifty Ofori Ansah and the Medical Superintendent of Lekma Hospital, Dr Akua Gyimah Asante.
The Hon MCE, then led the Regional Director and his team to the Ledzokuku Municipal Health Directorate where he met with Staff of the Directorate, Teshie Community Clinic and Camp 2 Health Center.
The MCE assured the staff of the various health centers of the Assembly’s support and said he will work with them to rebrand health service in Ledzokuku.
They again visited the Lekma Hospital where the MCE and the Regional Director took turns to address the hospital staff.
Dr. Robert Amesiya detailed the four pronged approach that the Director General of the Ghana Health Services has adopted to reposition the service. He praised management and staff of the hospital for their hard work and encouraged them to be guided by ethics of the Service in their day-to-day work and to accept feedback for further improvement. He commended management for keeping the hospital environment clean.
The MCE also motivated the staff to put in their best in serving the people and in maintaining the good name the hospital has chalked for itself over the years. He further reiterated his intention to rebrand Ledzokuku to which health service delivery is a top priority and as a representative of the President and with the reset agenda on course, he aspires to deliver.
The staff present at the meeting were given the opportunity to asked questions and pass comments
They finally, went on a tour of the Hospital facility: they visited the Emergency Ward, the Maternity Ward and the also inspected a newly constructed Patient Toilet as well as the Liquid Oxygen Plant that was recently handed over to the hospital by the US government.
