HON. ISRAEL ADJETEY OTCHWENMAH (MCE-LEKMA) HOLDS MAIDEN ENGAGEMENT WITH RESIDENTS ASSOCIATION OF OKPOI-GONO (ZONE 4).

The Hon. MCE for LekMA, Mr Israel Adjetey Otchwenmah, together with the MCD(Mrs Rhodaline Adwoa Conduah) and the Physical Planning Officer for LekMA(Mrs Gladys Adwoa Muquah) met with members of the Residents Association of Okpoi-Gono on Friday, 23rd May, 2025 at Okpoi-Gono.
The meeting sought to address issues regarding building permit, property rate and property owners without permit.
The Municipal Physical Planning Officer, Mrs Glady Adwoa Muquah explained the processes involved in acquiring a building permit and the need to acquire one to reduce the potential hazard of unsafe construction thereby ensuring the safety and welfare of the people.
Hon. MCE indicated that property rates are key source of revenue for the local government. He therefore, took the opportunity to encourage the residents to obtain building permits and pay their property rates religiously as such funds are essential for infrastructure development such as schools, roads, hospitals, as well as waste management and community development to enhance the living standards of the people in community and the municipality at large.
