From April 24th to 28th, 2023, the schools in the Ledzokuku community became arenas of learning and empowerment, not just for academics but for life-saving knowledge on disaster prevention. A comprehensive sensitization exercise was rolled out, focusing on flood and fire safety, alongside climate change-related disasters.
Students and teachers engaged in interactive sessions, where experts demonstrated practical safety measures and shared insights on the science of climate change. The program aimed to:
- Equip students with the skills to respond effectively to emergencies.
- Foster a culture of safety and preparedness within the educational environment.
- Encourage proactive measures to mitigate the impact of climate-related disasters.
This initiative is a shining example of proactive education, preparing our youth to lead the way in building a resilient and informed community.
