PREPARING FOR THE RAINS
As part of the Preparations and steps to mitigate the destruction of flood within the Municipality, I toured some flood-prone areas with the Minster for Works and Housing to access and seek some support from the Ministry of Works and Housing. Dredging of Sango stream, Opening of the water channel, around A-life(Teshie -Nungua Estate), and some development control works around ICGC, Bushroad.
NB: Some dredging works are ongoing at Demo.

4th QUARTER BUDGET COMMITTEE MEETING
The Budget Department of the Ledzokuku Municipal Assembly held their 4th Quarter Budget meeting on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at the Municipal Assembly hall. The coordinating Director for the municipal, Eng. John Tsikor was the chairperson for this meeting. In attendance were, Mrs Patience Dogbey Danku, head of the budget\rating unit, staff of the budget\rating unit, Director of health, social welfare and community development, finance officer, head of MIS(Management Information Systems) etc.
Mrs Patience D. Danku, took the staff present through the agenda below…..
1. Reading and confirmation of previous minutes
2. Matters arising from previous minutes
3. Discussion of 2022 budget performance
4. Discussion of GOG’s (Government Of Ghana) position to take over the collection of property rate (use of 2022 rateable value against new rate impost).
5. Discussion of 2022 Revenue Improvement Action plan strategies performance
6. Other matters (including elaborating of figures relating to expenditure, goods and services as well as assets.

FESTIVAL OF NINE LESSONS AND CAROLS SERVICE AT THE LEDZOKUKU MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY

The Municipal Chief Executive for Ledzokuku municipal assembly Mordecai Quarshie has assured the people of Teshie that the inner roads which are in a deplorable situation would be tackled, come next year .
He conceded that the year 2022 has been a challenging one, however he thanked God that he has taken us through the year and God’s willing next year, the Teshie roads will see a face lift.
The MCE, during his community engagement with the people of Teshie earlier in the year, promised that the inner roads in Teshie would be tackled. Mordechai Quarshie gave the assurance in his Christmas message during LeKMA Festival of nine lesson and carols service at Teshie in Accra.
He urged all to pray for better years ahead to our country “PRAY FOR PEACE FOR GHANA” he stressed.
He was optimistic that very soon prices of goods and services would come down, the Ghana cedi would also appreciate against the dollar when government begin with gold oil deal.
The Municipal Chief Executive commended the staff of the Assembly for working tirelessly during the year and urged all to work harder for the Assembly to achieve its targets in 2023.
The Municipal Coordinating Director, John Tsikor used the occasion to challenge the staff to appreciate God’s love in the year 2022.He advised them to use the occasion to build bridge and renew their love in the coming year.
The nine lesson were read by some selected heads of departments.
The sermon for the occasion was delivered by Rev .Marshlands Osabutey of St. Paul Methodist Cathedral, Tema Community one under the theme “WE NEED ANOTHER CHRISTMAS ”.
Featuring at the programme were LeKMA choir and Platinum choir.

WORLD AIDS DAY

As today marks the World AIDs Day,the Ledzekuku Municipal AIDs Committee in collaboration with the Municipal Education Directorate organised a Sensitization Program on HIV /AIDs and a Disclosure to the Southern Cluster of school children to mark the Day.

2023 BUDGET HEARING

The 2022 Regional Budget Hearing which was organized from Wednesday, 26th to Monday, 31st October, 2022 was held successfully.
At this event, the Ledzokuku Municipal Assembly hosted two other Assemblies namely; Krowor Municipal Assembly and Tema West Municipal Assembly as was mandatory for zone 5. The event took place at the Oak Plaza Hotel, Spintex.
The Budget Hearing is backed by the Public Financial Management Act, 2016(ACT 921), and Public Financial Management Regulations, (L.I. 2378).
Stakeholders from the Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council, Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development Ministry, and the Ministry of Finance were present to evaluate the effectiveness of the Implementation of Medium Term Development Plan (MTDP).

In attendance were also Civil Society Organizations, Opinion leaders, citizens of the state, as well as the media. This gave everyone the opportunity to have an open discourse and to scrutinize the Assemblies’ overall revenue and expenditure budget.

Municipal Education Director, Mrs Theresa Tetteh, We visited some Centres where Students within the Ledzokuku Municipality

With the company of the Municipal Education Director, Mrs Theresa Tetteh, We visited some Centres where Students within the Ledzokuku Municipality were assembled for the BECE Examination, earlier this morning.
We carried a message of inspiration and hope to accelerate their confidence in the writing of the Examination.
I wish all BECE Candidates in the Ledzokuku Municipality well.

TRAINING PROGRAMME FOR MUNICIPAL GUARDS
Six newly employed Municipal Guards of the Ledzokuku Municipal Assembly have undertaken a five day training programme organised by the Human Resource Department of the Assembly.
The programme aims to equip the participants to be abreast with security situations in the Municipality and also to perform as security personnel.
Eric Kwabena Awuah a Deputy Coordinating Director who performed the opening ceremony challenged the participants to seriously take the training programme as it will help them during the performance of their duty. “Security is a very serious issue and must be treated us such” he added.
The exercise was coordinated by officers from the Ghana Police Academy and topics such as the role of law enforcement officers and the use of force, leadership and teamwork, traits of a good leader, problem solving skills, duties of a security officer and qualities of a security officer were discussed.
