PREPARING FOR THE RAINS II

As part of the measures the Assembly is taking to reduce the flooding situation ahead of the heavy rainfall anticipated, The Assembly is taking some steps not limited to the following ;
1. Dredging the Sango stream
2. Dredging the Kor stream
3. Widening of the Sango Channel from Cocoa Street (Busy Mouth) to Beach Road.
NB: This is ahead of the expansion of culverts and the channel.
The objective is to bring flooding at the section to the barest minimum.
The works are being done with the advice and supervision of the Hydrological Services Authority and the Assembly.

LeKMA HOLDS BUDGET COMMITTEE MEETING

A budget committee meeting meeting of the Ledzokuku Municipal Assembly was held on Wednesday, March 29th, 2023. The meeting which took place at the Assembly’s conference room saw the attendance of the Municipal Coordinating Director, Ing. John Tsikor and some key heads of Departments and Units at the Assembly.
The matters discussed at the meeting included discussion of Budget performance for 2022 against 2021 and analysis between 2023 and 2022 first quarter performance.

TRAINING ON ADMINISTRATIVE DATA COMPILATION.

Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) issued a directive for all MMDAs to hold a training on Administrative Data Compilations.
In view of that, LEKMA hosted this training for some units and departments at the assembly hall.

LEDZOKUKU MUNICIPAL PLANNING COMMITTEE (LEKMPC) HOLDS A SPATIAL PLANNING COMMITTEE MEETING

Ledzokuku Municipal Planning Committee (LeKMPC) holds a Spatial Planning Committee meeting on 23rd March 2023. The meeting which took place at the conference hall/assembly hall saw the attendance of the M.C.E, Honorable Mordecai Quarshie, the Municipal Chief Director, Engr. John Tsikor, Secretary of the Spatial Planning, key members of the committee and some members of the heads of departments and units of the assembly

LEKMA IN COLLABORATION WITH NETWORK OF HOPE UNDERTAKES SKILLS ACQUISITION BUILDING TRAINING FOR PWDs.

The social welfare department of LEKMA, in collaboration with Network Of Hope, a non governmental organization, conducted a one(1) day skill acquisition training for thirty (30) PWDs( Person’s Living With Disabilities) and other vulnerable persons to enable them acquire skills in soap and bleach making. This training was organized at the social welfare of Lekma, Aloway on the 10th December, 2022.
The purpose of this training was to imbibe into PWDs entrepreneurship skills through soap and bleach making to better their livelihood.
The trainees were provided with all necessary equipment and items for the training.

RATE ASSESSMENT COMMITTEE MEETING

On Wednesday, March 8, 2023, the Ledzokuku Municipal Assembly (LeKMA) convened a meeting of its rate assessment committee in the Teshie conference hall. The Municipal Coordinating Director, Ing. John Tsikor, as well as other department and unit leaders, as well as a few chosen company and property owners from the municipality, attended the meeting.
The following topics were covered in the meeting:
reading and agreeing to the prior minutes.
issues pertaining to earlier minutes.
Talk about property owners’ petitions.
Other issues.
The gathering aimed to examine the assembly’s rates and levies for various services and facilities, as well as resolve any ratepayer issues or complaints. The gathering also aimed to improve income mobilisation and financial management at the assembly.
The meeting was part of the assembly’s attempts to promote good governance and accountability while also improving the municipality’s development and welfare.
