Ongoing demolition

A demolition exercise was carried out this morning by the Ledzokuku Municipal Assembly to remove structures at Manet Junction on the Spintex Road in Accra, to pave way for the construction of an overpass to connect the Teshie Link Road to East Legon and it’s environs.
Barely two weeks ago, the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Henry Quarety, led a team to demolish wooden and metal structures that occupied the area to prepare it for the road construction. But these squatters are back to encroach.
Today’s exercise was sanctioned by the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Mordecai Quarshie who was accompanied by officers of the Works department at LeKMA and some police officers from the Okpoi Gonno District
